Benajmin Matz
Ben is an investment banking expert specializing in healthcare and healthcare services with more than 14 years of experience executing and advising organizations through mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and growth equity recapitalization.
Ben has more than a decade of experience guiding businesses, leadership teams and key stakeholders through domestic and international mergers and acquisitions (M&A), recapitalization, restructuring and capital raising transactions. He specializes in investment banking, growth equity recapitalization, corporate valuation and turnaround advisory, primarily serving clients in healthcare and healthcare services.
Throughout his career, Ben has led public and private organizations through successful M&A and recapitalization processes, guiding teams through equity and debt transactions, asset sales and balance sheet restructurings. He has advised healthcare and healthcare services organizations in behavioral health, managed care, payor services, pharmaceutical services, physician practice management and telemedicine in transactions across the healthcare continuum. Overall, Ben has advised on and executed transactions exceeding $50 billion of economic value.
Prior to joining Huron, Ben was a director at Conway MacKenzie Capital Advisors, a boutique investment bank and affiliate of Conway MacKenzie, where he worked on numerous M&A, capital advisory, capital raising and financial restructuring engagements across a multitude of industries. Previously, he was an executive director in Rabobank International’s special asset management team, where he managed a distressed asset portfolio of credit and equity exposure. Ben was also involved in numerous financial advisory engagements across the capital structure while at Mesirow Financial.
Ben is an active member of the Los Angeles chapter of CFA Institute and the Association for Corporate Growth.
