Dr. David J. Cox is the Chief Data Officer at the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence and the Director of the Behavioral Data Science Research Lab at Endicott College. His work combines behavioral science and data science to understand the complexities of behavioral health and drive systems change at scale to improve behavioral health service delivery. With 16+ years of experience in the behavioral health and wellness industries, he has published 40+ articles and book chapters on the topics of ethics in behavior analysis, quantitative analyses of behavior, verbal behavior, natural language processing, and machine learning. He also is co-author on the book Practical Ethics for the Effective Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, the leading editor of the forthcoming book Research Ethics in Behavior Analysis, and co-author of the forthcoming book Statistics for ABA Practitioners. Dr. Cox’s research focuses broadly on the intersection between experimental analysis of behavior and behavioral data science – combining big data analytics and artificial intelligence with behavior analysis – to describe, predict, and control health-related decision-making in verbally competent humans.
