Oliver Wendt, PhD.
Oliver Wendt, PhD, is Director of the Potsdam Augmentative and Alternative Communication Research Lab, Associate Professor and Chair in Cognitive and Emotional Disabilities at the University of Potsdam, Germany. He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Families at Purdue University, USA, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. His research focuses on developing technologies and interventions in mobile technologies, speech-generating devices, and digital health for individuals with autism and/or developmental disability. Dr. Wendt served as co-founder and chief science officer of the award-winning, research-based autism technology start-up SPEAK MODalities, LLC. His research and development projects have received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Organization for Autism Research, the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration, and various private foundations. He is an associate editor of the journal Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
